Junior Developer (Odoo/Python)

--ZAD Solutions.--
ZAD Solutions · Full-time · On-site at ZAD Solutions office · Entry rung of the technical delivery ladder

About the role

ZAD Solutions has been building business systems since 2002 and has been an Official Odoo Gold Partner since 2009. We implement and support the operating backbone of mid-market and enterprise businesses across Egypt and Saudi Arabia — finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and the processes that connect them.

The Junior Developer is the entry rung of ZAD's technical delivery ladder. You build simple, well-specified Odoo customizations under supervision while learning our codebase, our coding standards, and — just as importantly — the business logic behind what you're being asked to build. Work reaches you as validated functional tasks: workflow, approval cycles, user groups and access, fields and types, expected input to output, and edge cases. Your job is to build it correctly, test it against the specification yourself, and ship it to standard.

You report to a Technical Team Leader, who triages and allocates work and reviews everything you produce, within a delivery team led by a Team Leader. The path forward is published and specific: Junior Developer → Developer → Senior Developer → Technical Team Leader, with written promotion gates at every step.

We are looking for developers who read the specification twice, ask instead of guessing, and care whether the code will still be readable in two years.

Responsibilities

  • Build simple, well-scoped Odoo tasks under supervision
  • Follow ZAD coding standards — structured, documented, upgrade-safe, AI-readable
  • Unit-test your own output against the task specification before handover
  • Push code to the repository on task completion, or daily on longer tasks
  • Verify the project link after every push
  • Notify the System Administrator ahead of pushes during client meetings or requiring a module update
  • Action review feedback from the Technical Team Leader and Senior Developer
  • Support bug fixing and defect resolution on assigned projects
  • Raise blockers and ambiguities in the task early rather than assuming intent
  • Keep task status current and commitments visible in the tracker
  • Use approved AI tooling to the internal standard
  • Complete required certifications and maintain the annual certification target
  •

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or comparable — or demonstrable equivalent skill
  • 0–1 years' experience; internships or graduation projects in Python accepted
  • Working Python capability
  • Git fundamentals
  • Basic relational database and SQL understanding
  • Ability to work from a written specification without filling gaps by assumption
  • Clear internal written communication
  • Professional English; Arabic for internal and client-facing work
  • Available full-time, on-site

Nice to have

  • Any Odoo development exposure — modules, ORM, views, or Odoo Studio
  • Python certification (PCEP or above)
  • PostgreSQL or SQL certification
  • JavaScript, XML, or QWeb familiarity
  • Exposure to REST API or third-party integration work
  • Personal or open-source projects with readable, committed code
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tooling

What We Offer

A career path with the steps written down. ZAD runs a published Qualification & Competency Framework: every role carries defined competencies, required certifications, and explicit promotion gates, so you know exactly what stands between you and the next rung — no guesswork, no politics. You will work under a Technical Team Leader who reviews your code and coaches on it, alongside Senior Developers building real client systems rather than internal exercises. Certifications are company-supported, and every ZAD employee carries an annual certification target. You will develop on live ERP problems across finance, supply chain, and manufacturing — the kind of domain exposure that makes a developer valuable rather than replaceable — with routes into integration work, mobile development, and eventually technical leadership. Beyond that: the credibility of a seventeen-year Odoo Gold Partnership, exposure to both Egyptian and Saudi engagements, a competitive package with a formal annual review cycle and a single July promotion window aligned to salary recalibration, and a firm investing hard in AI-enabled delivery and reusable IP — which means the skills you build here appreciate rather than commoditize.
